Liz was diagnosed with stage 2c colon cancer in 2011 at the age of 34 and was a model in the 2016 Colondar 2.0. She works as a nurse in a hospital in Denver, Colorado and is currently pursuing her doctorate in nursing education. She has volunteered for several non-profit cancer organizations to better the young adult cancer community. One of her soap boxes is the isolation young adults feel after diagnosis and going through treatments. She is married with two sons, 11 and 8, who are full of energy and fun. Other hobbies include being an ice hockey fan (especially her boys’ hockey teams), camping in the warmer months, watching movies, travelling anywhere, and spending time with family on their annual beach trip to North Carolina. The promotion of survivorship makes hope bloom.
